Soft robot gripper to solve the problem of "last centimetre of automated production"
The soft robot gripper is mainly made of silicone and is controlled by a pneumatic controller. When positive pressure is input, the gripper grips tightly, and when negative pressure is input, the gripper releases the object. In specific applications, the soft robot gripper can be adapted to wrap shaped objects due to its soft material and flexible pneumatic control. In a case study with the electrical giant Schneider, the soft robot gripper was used to grip electrical switches on an assembly line.
