The company mainly deals with "Anjoy" brand frozen food products including: frozen minced fish products such as fish balls with popping sauce, fish plates and fish tofu; frozen meat products such as shrimp dumplings, juicy beef balls and mini sausages; frozen flour and rice products such as shredded cakes, milk steamed buns, walnut buns, brown sugar steamed buns and brown sugar rice cakes; frozen dish products such as Chiba tofu and egg dumplings. At present, the company has more than 300 varieties of frozen food products.
One of the company's egg dumpling production lines needed to sort and box the products, but the traditional suction cups and rigid gripper jaws were not suitable due to the high temperature of the freshly demoulded egg dumplings, which were very soft and fragile. The original line had always used manual sorting, which made it easier for workers to get burned and was very labor intensive, resulting in high labor costs for the company. As a result, the line was plagued with problems such as high product breakage rates, reduced production capacity and difficulties in controlling food hygiene.
Cobotsys is a Korean company that designs integrated solutions for production automation, mainly involved in the food, fresh food and industrial fields. The requirement for this project was to pick up different sizes of raw dough at a certain point in the production line. There are three sizes of dough: 12", 9" and 6" in diameter, with a maximum and a minimum in each size. The project wanted to use one gripper for all the different dough sizes, while at the same time ensuring the food hygiene and not deforming the dough during the gripping process. These requirements could not be met with conventional grippers or suction cups in the original production line.
